How to use it in Nearpod, Classroom, Moodle and Canvas
Steps to add the SQL arcade and the cases to your teaching platform. No student accounts and nothing to install: all it takes is a link.
Everything opens from a link, with no student accounts. Copy the link for your platform: it carries a tag so we know where the visit came from, nothing else. Menu names change between versions of each platform, so you may see a different one.
Nearpod
A real class has already reached the arcade from Nearpod.
Open your lesson and choose to add content.
Select Web Content.
Paste the link below and save.
If your school blocks pages inside frames, paste the link as text on a slide so students open it in another tab.
The SQL engine downloads the first time (about 7 MB). In a classroom, open it a few minutes early if the network is slow.
Progress is saved in each computer's browser. If data is wiped at logout, as happens in some labs, it's lost: that's what the certificate is for, leaving a code at the end of each world.
It works on phones, but writing SQL is more comfortable on a computer. The arcade plays well on both.
Want the answer key?
The worksheet answers and the solutions to all 28 cases aren't published, so students won't find them. Write to us from your institutional email and we'll send them, at no cost.
The arcade, the lessons and the first two cases are free and need no account. For your group to have all 28 cases, the classroom license is free too: how to request it →
